What is Neoclassicism style?
I must confess that I've always been
confused about what defines this
style. But here is how I was able to
understand such complex period.
MOVEMENT
Neoclassicism was movement that
encompassed a period from late
18th Century to early 19th Century.
It was in part a reaction against
the frivolity and the excessive
ornamentation of Rococo style.
But it was also a reflection of
the increased interest in classical
stylistic which the,then,uncovered
Herculaneum and Pompeii cities
provoked.
